This site is operated by Volpentest Enterprises LLC, an Arizona limited liability company. No Limits Just Proof is a brand of that company. In practice it’s me, Tony Volpentest — I pack and ship every order myself.

What you’re buying

A signed softback copy of Fastest Man in the World: The Tony Volpentest Story, from the 2014 printing — the last one. Every copy is signed by hand and given a number.

These are the last copies I hold. When they’re gone I can’t make more of them, and you don’t get to choose which number you receive.

Price and shipping

{{ priceShipped }}. That’s the whole price — shipping is included, and nothing is added at checkout.

Sales tax is included in that figure too. Arizona charges transaction privilege tax on a sale like this one, and I pay it out of the price above rather than add it to your total. The number you see is the number Stripe charges you.

The checkout accepts US addresses only. If you’re outside the US, contact me for a shipping quote before ordering — write to me and I’ll quote you honestly. Shipping overseas costs more than the book does, so I quote it case by case rather than surprise anyone with a total they didn’t expect. I can’t promise a price or a date before I’ve looked it up.

Payment is handled entirely by Stripe, on Stripe’s own checkout page. I never see your card number. Stripe gives me the order and shipping information I need to send the book.

When it ships

Within three business days of your order. Usually sooner. It goes by mail, so allow up to a couple of weeks for it to reach you, longer over holidays.

There’s no warehouse and no fulfillment company. If I’m away, it’s the one thing that might run to the far end of that window.

If I can’t ship within three business days, I’ll email you before that deadline, cancel the order, and issue a full, prompt refund.

If it arrives damaged, or doesn’t arrive

Tell me within 30 days of ordering and I’ll put it right — a replacement if I still have stock, a full refund if I don’t. Either way I cover it, and I don’t need you to send the damaged copy back.

A photograph helps but isn’t required. I’m not going to argue with you about a book.

If you change your mind

Send it back within 30 days of ordering, unread and undamaged, and I’ll refund the {{ price }}. Return shipping is yours — please use something with tracking, because if it doesn’t arrive back I can’t refund it. If it sells out

The book page gives an upper bound on what’s left rather than an exact count, so an order can still arrive after the last copy has gone. If yours does, I’ll refund you in full right away and tell you what happened.

The photographs in the gallery are Chris Hamilton’s, used with permission. Credit them as Photographs by Chris Hamilton/HamPhoto.com. That permission covers this site — it doesn’t extend to you. Please don’t copy, republish or reuse them.

The same goes for the text, the design and the marks. If you’re a journalist writing about me, the media kit says what you may use and how to ask about the rest — that page exists precisely so you don’t have to guess.

Speaking and press inquiries

The forms on this site are inquiries, not bookings. Nothing is agreed until we’ve talked and put it in writing. Sending a form doesn’t commit either of us to anything.

What I can’t be responsible for

I stand behind the book and the order. I can’t be responsible for what you do with anything you read here or for other sites I link to.

Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have by law where you live.

Which law applies

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona.

Changes

If these terms change, the date at the top changes with it. The terms that apply to your order are the ones on this page when you placed it.
